The most awaited movie Honsla Rakh is finally released in the theatres and breaking all records. Movie star cast Diljit Dosanjh, Sonam Bajwa and Shehnaaz Gill in lead roles. This film is Amarjit Singh’s directorial comeback. Did this movie disappoint us or did it win our hearts? This post will review Honsla Rakh Movie today!
To begin with, Diljit Dosanjh is playing the role of a father with a 7-year-old child. The film is set in Vancouver, Canada, and marks the beginning of the Diljit and Shahnaz duo. We got another pair on screen, but this match didn’t go well for me. From the trailer,
I expected a lot of their jokes as a couple, but even in the movie, there wasn’t much about the Dosanjh-Gill duo except for a few scenes and songs. The story focuses more on Sonam and Diljit, a successful couple as we have all seen in previous films.
Now how do the two sides of the story come together? This is how the story goes
Diljit and his son leave their first wife behind because she is an enthusiastic woman and thinks caring for a child will keep him away from his dreams. The couple did not want a child after the marriage but unfortunately… or fortunately, the wife becomes pregnant and they have a child after which the first wife Shahnaz Gill leaves the house.
Now it leaves a Punjabi boy and ways to treat his child as a single parent. He faces difficulties, for which he turns to help, which he calls ‘courage’, hence the title.
This part of the film, which comes within the first twenty minutes, has a bit of background and the struggle of a single dad negates the effect of the whole film. So for those who are going to see a movie soon, keep your expectations low for beginners because then it sounds like a classic Punjabi comedy but then!
As the film picks up speed after the first half-hour, it will surprise, delight, and laugh at you for no reason!
This is because Diljit returns to his farm which we have not seen in so long. He goes back to the natural tones of his acting and of course, in the meantime, he has gained more splendor in the Bollywood experience. That’s why Bollywood superstars join us in movies. Talking about his appearance, at times it seemed that it was the same Diljit who looked like the 10-year-old Diljit as she wore ‘Jatt and Juliet’ clothes and worked in turban style. But later in the film, this aspect was also improved. Overall, his turban was beautiful in color and he looked like a ‘hero’ who has worldwide fans.
In terms of performance, all three have played their roles well. I’ve mentioned before that when a couple worked, one didn’t work as well. Surprisingly, Shahnaz Gill played the role very well. Looking at the trailer, I wasn’t sure if Shahnaz would be able to play this role, especially as the lead role. But she did justice to an ordinary Punjabi, aspiring girl who was so focused on her career that she was able to leave her child and become something in life.
I am saying this for about 20 minutes which slowed down the film and then finally when Shahnaz put his shoes under his sharara! The film was edited by Manish More and was well done by Digital Intermediate (DI). The colors were beautiful and the cinematography by Baljit Singh Deo was absolutely stunning, very beautiful, the frames were worth seeing in every shot and of course, Baljit Singh brings out the city in a very beautiful way.
Overall, Honsla Rakh it’s great family entertainment, it doesn’t have vulgar language, ambiguous jokes, nor is it as loud as some other Punjabi movies. There is no quick dialogue or forced laughter, instead, it is a good and interesting film that will keep you attached to your seats. The family will enjoy it, take their children with them, there is nothing wrong with the movie, the songs are great.
